Impossible situations create new possibilities
What "impossible" situation are you faced with today? Just lost your job or house? Just found out your spouse is planning to divorce you?
When a door that you relied on shuts down before your face, it often feels like it's the end of the world. How can you live without your job, your spouse or your house? Listen; as long as you continue to depend on God, and trust him with every step of your life, you will realise that what appears to be a dead end is actually a new possibility. To you your mountain can appear impossible, but "With God all things are possible" Matthew 19;26
I want to encourage you with these words from Jesus, if you are faced with an impossible situation, let your faith be renewed and strengthened. Instead of concentrating on the impossibility of your situation, start thinking along these lines; What are four new possibilities you can see - instead of just assuming crushing loss?
If you lost your job, you could:
Realize you've been "underemployed" and "underpaid" - Go back to school to finish that long-awaited degree, or start your own business.
If you have lost a spouse:
It could mean a new beginning for you; learn to be identified by your own achievements not by your spouse's achievements. You can't dwell in the comfort of being "a doctor's wife" forever - spread your own wings! Single life is a blessing and it can empower you to be more responsible, more hardworking and more independent.
SO give up the victim mentality, don't take the self pitying path. You are not facing the impossible, but you are facing new possiblities.
Ask God today to help you realise the new possibilities. flashing at you right now!
