Its good to be self sufficient, but you can only do so much on your own. We all need a hand from others one way or the other.

Ever needed a push start? Realised that you could not do it all by yourself, huh? God did not put only one person on this planet because he knew that people need company, people need one another. We need to function as a body, everyone playing specific roles, no part of the body is less significant. Neither can any part of the body function alone.  

"The eye can not say to the hand I don't need you!" (Corinthians 12:21). Sometimes, when hurt by others we often jump to push them away and conclude that we don't need anyone we can do it all by ourselves.

Listen, in order for us to function properly, we need one another. You can not say you have a car when the engine is in Bulawayo, the steering in London, the tyres in Botswana and maybe you keep the gear box in Harare. That's not a car! It can only begin to function as a car when all the parts are assembled together.

Noone can function alone! We need one another. Maybe you are married, and you really appreciate the reality that you can't run that household alone. Maybe you have been trying and you have realised that it's impossible. You need help from your spouse, and your children. Even at work, you can't achieve certain tasks alone. As much as you may not readily  enjoy working with others you will need their input here and there!

So ask God today to help you function as part of a body. Stop trying to do it all alone! You need others, and others need you too!
