Mind your friends!
Life would be lonely and empty if we had to sail through it in isolation. We all need friends to share life's exeperiences with.
Friends are not merely there to fill the gaps in our lives, but they have the overwhelming power to influence the way we think and behave. Some of the decisions that you have made in your life had a great bearing on a friend's influence. If you are not careful a so called beloved friend can mislead you and leave you in deep trouble! This sounds like a lesson for young children who are likely to be affected by peer pressure - but no matter how mature we become we are still vulnerable to bad influence!
"Whoever walks with fools suffers harm" (Proverbs 13:20.) If you are not careful who you befriend you could cause yourself untold harm. Maybe you are divorced today because a friend said to you it was best to walk away from your marriage. Maybe you quit your job because your friend told you that it was high time you moved on. There are so many decisions that you might have made due to a friend's influence, but now you regret it.
Its good to have friends, but there is need to exercise care and descernment when choosing friends. "There are friends who pretend to be friends, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother" (Proverbs 18:24)
As much as a good friend will lift you high, a bad friend will bring you down big time.
Ask God to help you today not to fall prey to bad influence!
