Much Ado about Nothing

Shortages and queues are the buzz words everywhere you go in Zimbabwe. Shortages of basic commodities, fuel, water, even bottled water, fizzy drinks, juices and lately school uniforms.

Driving past a very long queue on the outskirts of town the other day a friend remarked, "I wonder what queue that is for in this part of town?" to which he responded on his own, "could be a queue at a funeral for people waiting to pay their last respects ( queue yekubata maoko)." We all broke down in laughter.

What does it really take to find laughter in such. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, " So we fix our eyes not on what is seen (food queues and shortages), but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

When the going gets tough, our true beliefs, values, ethos and who we become exposed through our attitudes and actions. For many it becomes difficutt to walk by faith but by sight.

The Preacher sums it up nicely, "there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:" (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Thank you very much for

Thank you very much for always giving us something to remind us to refocus ourselves. Being a "Zimbo" living in the diaspora I am always inundated with sad news of the goings on at home. Even relatives always give yopu the rough side of life so that you send them nore money. We find ourselves depressed and not wanting to hear anything about Zimbabwe. Thank you for the new ways of looking at the Zimbabwean situation. Can we have more positive news about Zimbabwe if you can?
