Feba Zim programmes double

Feba Zimbabwe has with effect from 1 November 2007 more than doubled its production output.

The output which stood at 125 minutes for a while now, has increased to 275 minutes. The increase is as a result of the introduction of two more 45 minute Sunday Morning Services on Radio Zimbabwe and National FM complementing the existing one on S FM, a new 30 minute, Living & Loving whose focus is on the family and another 30 minute on Radio Zimbabwe in Shona, Tingazvigone Sei?

Power cuts affect internet connections

Recent spates of power cuts in Zimbabwe have affected internet connections.

In circulars sent to customers this past week, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) advised customers that e-mail traffic would be slowed down. This has been caused by power cuts that have rendered servers powerless - literally.

ISPs have resorted to using generators to run servers at specific times as the fuel that runs the generators is also not readily available.

We are sorry

Feba Zimbabwe would like to apologise to all the visitors to this website for our failure to change the content on the site. This was due to a technical problem in our main server which is  being rectified.

We promise to give you more updates on what is happening in the ministry as well as the country. God bless!

Executive Committee leads ministry

The Board of Governors of Feba Zimbabwe has appointed an Executive Committee to lead the ministry whilst a suitable candidate for the vacant post of National Director is identified.

The committee has executive authority and is responsible for the day to day operations of the ministry. The committee was appointed by the board at a board meeting held recently.

The committee is also responsible for identifying and recruiting a suitable candidate for the post of National Director.

Rainy night in H-town

Harare on Tuesday received what we could term the first rains.

Showers were first experienced in the north west part of Harare in the afternoon. The showers soon spread to most parts of Harare and by late evening, Harare west and north had received significant showers.

We are hopefull that this is a sign that the 2007 - 2008 farming season will be a wet one; a sign of revival.

Feba Zim bids farewell to yet another

Feba Zimbabwe this week bids farewell to Farai Clive Takarupiwa who leaves to pursue personal interests in South Africa.

Farai has had a career with Feba Zimbabwe spanning over almost 10 years; a career in which he was host and co-host of the programmes Faith in Action and the Sunday Morning Service respectively. He was also very instrumental in the setting up of this website.

Black and Beautiful

Existing along a 430 km long crack in the craton across Zimbabwe is the famous rock crystals; resulting in the formation of gabbros and the mineral rich peridotites of the Great Dyke, the country's giant black diamond.

The Great Dyke is a linear feature that trends nearly north-south through the centre of Zimbabwe passing on to the west of Harare. It consists of a band of short, narrow ridges and hills spanning for about 515 km.

Much Ado about Nothing

Shortages and queues are the buzz words everywhere you go in Zimbabwe. Shortages of basic commodities, fuel, water, even bottled water, fizzy drinks, juices and lately school uniforms.

Driving past a very long queue on the outskirts of town the other day a friend remarked, "I wonder what queue that is for in this part of town?" to which he responded on his own, "could be a queue at a funeral for people waiting to pay their last respects ( queue yekubata maoko)." We all broke down in laughter.

Harare Survey Completed

The Harare Survey which began on August 16 has come to an end.

The survey conducted by 16 young people drawn from churches and theological colleges working in partnership with Feba Zimbabwe started off with a target of 1 000 interviews.

Data capturing of survey results has already started and is expected to be through in a weeks' time.

Yet Another Feather in the Cap

Feba Zimbabwe has achieved yet another feat as one of its own has been honoured again.

Munyaradzi Chimwara a producer with Feba Zimbabwe was presented with the Journalistic and Media Award for HIV/Aids Reporter 2006. The award is in recognition of the work being done through the programme Signs of Hope a 30 minute interview programme that discusses HIV/Aids issues.
