Row row row your boat

Do you remember the old nursery school song which goes:

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

Going through life at times I think should be just another journey down the stream. Like a stream, life has its ups and downs, its meanders, its rapids and waterfalls and islands in the streams.

For the love of Rachel

Reading through Genesis 28 - 30 gives me the feeling that almost says, "you have done it too."

Living in Zimbabwe is a little like the story of Jacob - after serving his uncle Laban faithfully for seven years, he does not get what he worked for. Instead, he gets Leah, who according to him was not his choice.

Laban encourages him to serve another seven years for Rachel which he did. It is in the last seven years that he managed to amass all the wealth that he eventually possessed.

$1 000 000 and $10 000 000 notes for Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe
will with effect from January 18, 2008 have $10 million , $5 million and $1 million notes.

The denominations come into circulation amidst adverse cash shortages which have gripped the country since October 2007. This set of bearer cheques comes hardly 3 weeks after the central bank introduced yet another set of $250 000, $500 000 and $750 000 bearer cheques. This set was meant to replace the old $200 000 note. This was later aborted.

Feba Zim 2008 Programmes

The year has started well with Feba Zimbabwe signing a
ZWD52 billion airtime barter deal with the Zimbabwe Brodcasting Corporation (ZBC).

In this deal, Feba Zimbabwe has secured a supply of programmes to ZBC from January 1 - October 31, 2008.

To this effect, the following programmes are currently on air:

Compliments of the Season

Another year has gone again. Many in Zimbabwe are wondering whether 2008 is the year?

This is the year that Zimbabwe will hold combined elections - presidential, parliamentary and local government.

The rains have been good, though in some areas destructive, hopes are however high that this indeed will be the "Mother of all farming seasons."

For most of us, we are hopeful that the Grace of God will be sufficient. God bless and best wishes for 2008.

The dream lives on

As the year comes to an end, friends of Feba Zimbabwe across the world are hopeful for a day when the ministry will operate an FM radio station.

The dream, born a long time ago, may tarry for now but, it feels as each day goes by that its fulfillment is getting closer. As they say, the darkest hour is the hour before dawn - we remain hopeful and expectant.

We at Feba Zimbabwe wish all our listeners, friends, partners and supporters a merry Christmas and prosperous 2008.

Feba Zim has new ND

Feba Zimbabwe has a new National Director.

The Board of Governors of Feba Zimbabwe on 30 November 2007 appointed Mr. Kurai Madzonga to the position of National Director taking over from Mrs. Maria Fatima Gwata who left the ministry in July 2007.

The 34 year old Mr. Madzonga is a pastor with Faith Ministries and has experience in engineering, church and workshop administration.

BIO- diesel

Zimbabwe this month opened a bio-fuel plant that will see the production of bio-diesel from the Jatropha plant.

The plant funded by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) is the first of its kind in Africa and has the capacity to produce 100 million litres of bio-diesel annually.

The plant which processes jatropha, cotton seed, sunflower and soya to produce bio-diesel, is a joint venture between the central bank and Youn Woo Investments of South Korea.

Cash shortage hits Zim

Zimbabwe has once again been gripped by cash shortages as financial institutions fail to meet the daily demands for cash.

Long winding queues have become the order of the day as people wait for hours on end for cash. Some financial institutions have resorted to rationing cash by bringing down maximum withdrawal thresholds introduced by the central bank.

Mother of all farming seasons

The government of Zimbabwe has declared the 2007-2008 farming season as the "Mother of all farming" seasons.

As more rains pound on Zim, hopes are high that this year's farming season will indeed be the "mother of all farming seasons."

Manwhile Zimbabweans from all walks of life are continueing with intercession for the country and its leadership.
