Zim - licious: Life in Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe is beautiful. The people are lovely, the weather is fantastic to say the least. Life here is truely brilliant. Some of you am sure are wondering which Zim I am talking about.
Well for a start, we are a country with month on month inflation running into the thousands. As if that is not enough, we have an economy with negative growth, an electricity crisis threatening to send us back to the dark ages and as of last Thursday, the motoring public began to sleep on fuel queues following the ban on fuel coupons imposed by government.
Despite the above, I see more smiles on people's faces than ever before, church is even better than it was before, attendance is great. Why? Well, we cannot afford to drive away for the weekend. So all of us are in church. Fathers are spending more time with their familes; they cannot afford to consume the little fuel there is in the car. Wow! And guess what, the big one: Zimbabwe has more millionaires compared to the rest of the world put together. Now that's serious.
On a more serious note, God has given Zimbos (Zimbabweans) a certain kind of grace to see "beauty for our ashes." I tell you, when all this is over, revival will sweep Zimbabwe like never before. So drop everything and come down to Zim folks.
