Feba Zim Restructures

Feba International is downsizing its operations in its Harare office.

The restructuring is in line with current changes within the Feba International family and is a response to the current economic recession affecting most countries.

In letters received by employees, the National Director of Feba Zimbabwe Pastor Kurai Madzonga adviced that the ministry "has been operating with the bulk of its financial support coming from its head office in the United Kingdom. Recently this support has been reduced by almost 50%."

"This letter serves to notify you as it offers you an option to voluntarily resign from your post with effect from the 2nd of December 2008," part of the letter stated.

The Board of Governors of Feba Zimbabwe will meet to decide on the future structure of the ministry.

Feba Zimbabwe currently has a staff complement of nine.

CHECK YOUR RECORD

Whenever someone is buried, there is one thing that everyone returns from the graveyard with; and that is character.

Our possessions will come to pass, but our character lives forever even after we have died. It's time for a reality check; what exactly are you contributing to society? Can you honestly sit down and list at five things that you can say you are doing to make this world a better place? Check your past, your present and your future.

Let's briefly look at King Hezekia on his dying bed. He had fought and won many wars dellivering God's people from the Assyrians. Hezekia was a trustworthy, respectable, honorable and determined man of God. That's why he found confidence to challenge God's death verdict upon his life.

2 Kings 20:3 " Remember O Lord how I have walked faithfully before you..."

Imagine you were on your own dying bed, can you honestly challenge God the way that King Hezekia did? What is there to show for your life? What good have you done for society? Have you served God faithfully?

Take time today to check your life record. Is it a pleasing record or it needs improvement. Ask God today to help you set your record right.

MIND YOUR ATTITUDE

Your ability to succeed in life often comes down to a single choice; how you react to what has been done to you in the past or is being done to you right now.

You can choose to become a victim of your circumstances or a victor! You can become bitter with those who oppose you or reject you, or you can choose to turn their negative comments into positive inspiration. If someone says to you "you are a loser, nothing good can ever come out of you", how do you react? Do you then spend the whole day feeling sorry for yourself and drowning in defeat?

Listen, you have no control over how people treat you, but you have control over how you react. The Psalmist adopted a good attitude when he woke up each morning and said;-

"This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it"

(Psalm 118:24)

You can do that too! Attitude goes beyond emotion, its a decision that you make. Your spouse can let you down, and you have no control over that, but how you react to that is entirely up to you. You can choose to revenge by throwing him out of the house, or you can choose to forgive and move on with your life. Your boss can reject your project proposal, and you may have no control over that, but your reaction is your choice. You can become moody all day and treat all customers with hostility; or you can choose to take your proposal elsewhere where it will be recieved with enthusiasm.

Mind your attitude. Your success depends so much on that! The more enthusiastic we are, the more productive we become. The more persistent we are, the more successful we become.

'Life is Like a Box of Chocolates...'

Ever bought a box of assorted chocolates? You never know what you are going to get. Life is like a box of chocolates, loaded with surprises, some delightful and some downright disagreeable. The yummy ones, of course, are easy to swallow, but the yucky ones are sometimes hard to stomach.

Those yucky ones, however, determine our depth of character. If life was all good, and your faith was never challenged, where would you be spiritually? It's the bad times that test our faith and cause us to mature as we learn to rely on God through everything we endure. Think about Job. He had it all -- he was living the good life until Satan challenged God to test Job's character of faith:One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan the Accuser came with them. "Where have you come from?" the LORD asked Satan. And Satan answered the LORD, "I have been going back and forth across the earth, watching everything that's going on." Then the LORD asked Satan, "Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth -- a man of complete integrity. He fears God and will have nothing to do with evil." Satan replied to the LORD, "Yes, Job fears God, but not without good reason! You have always protected him and his home and his property from harm. You have made him prosperous in everything he does. Look how rich he is! But take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face!" Job 1: 6 - 11After the meeting between God and Satan, Job was stripped of everything; health, wealth, family and friends. He went from wanting for nothing to having nothing. The decadent life he once enjoyed came to an abrupt end, and now he was left to swallow the bitter results of Satan's wrath. Job's faith was put to the ultimate test, but through it all he remained steadfast. He savored the good, stomached the bad, and never waffled in his devotion to God, and in the end he tasted the sweet success of victorious living. So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. Job 42:12 God is so good!Where are you today in your faith walk? Are you enjoying the sweet taste of good times or a series of unexpected, unpleasant events? Sometimes when the going gets tough we literally open a box of chocolates looking for comfort. In fact, we often turn to addictive things such as food, alcohol, drugs, shopping. - anything to dull the pain we feel inside. We forget to rely on the Spirit of God, who is living in us, to get us through the distasteful portions of our lives. When we read of the hardships Job endured, it's tempting to think there's no way we could endure such trials. But Job did, without resorting to addictive behaviors. Beloved, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what it is going to dish out, but through it all God will help you remain level-headed, and delight you in guilt-free comfort when you indulge in His Spirit.

Impossible situations create new possibilities

What "impossible" situation are you faced with today? Just lost your job or house? Just found out your spouse is planning to divorce you?

When a door that you relied on shuts down before your face, it often feels like it's the end of the world. How can you live without your job, your spouse or your house? Listen; as long as you continue to depend on God, and trust him with every step of your life, you will realise that what appears to be a dead end is actually a new possibility. To you your mountain can appear impossible, but "With God all things are possible" Matthew 19;26

I want to encourage you with these words from Jesus, if you are faced with an impossible situation, let your faith be renewed and strengthened. Instead of concentrating on the impossibility of your situation, start thinking along these lines; What are four new possibilities you can see - instead of just assuming crushing loss?

If you lost your job, you could:

Realize you've been "underemployed" and "underpaid" - Go back to school to finish that long-awaited degree, or start your own business.

If you have lost a spouse:

It could mean a new beginning for you; learn to be identified by your own achievements not by your spouse's achievements. You can't dwell in the comfort of being "a doctor's wife" forever - spread your own wings! Single life is a blessing and it can empower you to be more responsible, more hardworking and more independent.

SO give up the victim mentality, don't take the self pitying path. You are not facing the impossible, but you are facing new possiblities.

Ask God today to help you realise the new possibilities. flashing at you right now!

God is Faithful

Life would be easy and pleasant if everyone around us was faithful and genuine.

Unfortunately, too often people are not what they appear to be. One moment they are a true friend , the next moment they become the traitor. Ever been let down by someone that you really trusted? Betrayal is no news, it's as common as the setting of the sun every other day. Yet common though it maybe, no words can quite explain the depth of the pain that it causes.

Jesus faced betrayal too, from his very close disciple; a man who had walked with him for many years. As much as it is sad to accept the reality that people can let us down, we can take great comfort in the knowledge that God is faithful, reliable and dependable. The only one who can never let us down; for he is totally incapable of letting down anyone who puts his confidence in him. "For the Lord will not forsake his people. He will not abandon his heritage" Psalm 94;14

Take comfort in the assurance that as much as people are capable of abandoning you, God is incapable of forsaking you. No matter what happens, as long as you continue to look up to him for help, GOD REMAINS FAITHFUL forever.

Trust God with your life today. Surrender all your cares and concerns to him. He is FAITHFUL; he will never let you down.

If you don't manage your time, it manages you!

The day can only be just but 24 hours, just as the week will only be just but 7 days! Noone can add or subtract these fixed times.

In a given day one can only achieve so much. Wise is he who knows time management. You can sail through the day busy with all sorts of errands, and yet at the end of the day if you sit to review your progress, you may realise that there is none! You are maybe just a busy body, and not an achiever. Use your time wisely! Don't just sit there and wait impatiently in that queue, take a book and read!

Time is short. Life is brief. The Bible even says so. According to Moses, the years of our lives “quickly pass” (Psalm 90:10). As we grow older, we look back and wonder where the time has gone. Each of us is allotted a finite number of days, and the cry of our hearts is the same as Moses’; we pray that God will “establish the work of our hands” (v. 17). By the time Moses wrote Psalm 90 he was evidently an old man and had come to realize how short his time on earth would be.

Listen, a day lived can never be redeemed, it's either you do it today or never. Tomorrow is a brand new day that comes with it's own demands.

Ask God today to show you ways in which you can begin to make quality use of your time. It will be sad to die oneday and realise that you never lived!

When it's all been said and done.

You may never get to reach your full potential in life if you are a people driven person, not a purpose driven person.

Half the time your decision whether to do something or not can be heavily influenced by the people around you. It's good to take good influence from others, but if you allow people to dictate the pace at which you do things in your life, you may fail to get far in life. Decisions about your life are best taken by you, and not pressured in by the crowd. You do not get married because everyone thinks it's high time you got married. You do not change your career because everyone thinks it's cool to change professions.

Poeple who make it in life have developed the skill of self assurance and assertiveness. They know what they want and they will do what it takes to get it. Jesus came on earth with a special and specific mission, and he followed it through no matter what the people around him thought about him. "what good can come out of Nazareth?" (John 1:46), the people around him mocked. Yet he was firm and remained steadfast until his purpose was achieved.

Listen; you need to stop listening to all those words of discouragement. Pray and ask God to show you your purpose today. Pursue your purpose with all your energy and zeal. You may never find true happiness until you start pursuing your real purpose in life.

Forget what people say, because when it's all been said and done, all that matters is what God will say to you.

WHERE IS YOUR CONFIDENCE?

It's easy and perhaps natural to warm up to the people around us and end up placing our confidence and trust in them.

Sadly though, half the time these very people can turn around and desert us in our time of need. It's good to have family and friends whom you can trust and confide in, however most of the time, due to our sinful nature, we often let each other down. Maybe you are crying foul because the spouse that you trusted with everything you have betrayed your trust. That workmate that you confided in about your marital problems heralded your top secret to everyone at tea time.

Listen, people can let you down anytime anywhere! But if you put your confidence in God, you will not be let down. "It is better to put your trust in the LORD than to put your confidence in man" Psalm 118:8

God is always there, yesterday, today and forever, and he is unchanging. His steadfast love is renewed every morning.. It is therefore wise and secure to trust in him. Riches come and go. People change and people come and go. If you put your confidence in earthly things, you will be let down.

SO go ahead and put your confidence in God today!

Mind your friends!

So much of what you become in life has a strong bearing on who you spend most of your time with.

Friends have inevitable influence over how we think, act and perceive things. If you spend time in the company of easy going friends, one way or the other you begin to embrace the same attitude too. Sadly though, if your friends are full of negative attitudes, you are likely to fall into the same trap. Ever had a friend who always sought to point out the negative things in you? A friend who is forever striving to pull you down, and to pour water over your zeal. Someone who does not appreciate the virtues and great abilities stored in you. Someone who is always telling you that you will never amount to anything in life!

Therefore, your choice of friends can determine how you wind up in life. In Proverbs 13:20, the Bible says;- "Whoever walks with fools suffers harm". You can not play by the fireside and remain clean of the smell of smoke!

Mind your friends! Spend more time in the company of people who influence you in a positive manner. People who motivate you to reach your potential in life!

Ask God today to direct you to good friends, and your life will begin to shape up in the right direction!
